Well, I’ve finally moved and now live in Brooklyn, a block from Central Park. (People who think that’s geographically improbable: different Brooklyn, different country.) It is an easy twenty minute walk to the center of town (the walk back up the hill is the hard bit) and it looks like the trip to work will take a similar time (but using a car).
Todays amusement was coming across a mangled car wreck at the west end of Manners Mall. At the time I put it down as either a piece of art or a dire warning from the Land Transport Safety Authority. It turns out that it is a promo for King Kong – I apparently didn’t notice the large footprints.
I’m not looking forward to King Kong. The film is probably great and I’ll go and see it (supporting local business and all that) but the promotional stunts are going to be heavy in this neck of the woods.
