Not Blogging Live From GNOME.conf.au

My talk went just fine until about halfway through when I made some comments about Cairo’s inadequacies. Then there was a question from the back querying these statements. At this point I had to decide how to respond: do I assume it is just some random zealot who has heard that Cairo is quick and can be got rid of by hand-waving, or is it Carl Worth who needs a real answer. Fortunately I guessed Carl Worth.

I have also learned that hackergotchis are horrible misrepresentations (I should have just extrapolated from my one), dtrace is cool (but we all knew that too) and that suspending individual processes has a lot of potential (can we attach them to bugzilla?).

jdub has learned that, if you are going to do the post-it note Rocks/Sucks thing, don’t give everyone a full pad of post-it notes.
