It’s been a few days since I said anything. Quite possibly this means I have nothing to say. Or maybe Cushla won’t let me say them. Who knows.
Things I can say: We have set the date for our wedding, it will be on the 16th of January 2005. We have a celebrant organised and some vague idea about who we are going to explicitly invite (everyone else is welcome to just turn up) but not a lot else. We do know that it is going to be a reasonably low-key affair, we don’t have the money for much else.
The reason we don’t have the money is that we have decided to go ahead with the kitchen and bathroom renovations. This will mean rebuilding about a third of the house and replacing all the plumbing, most of the electrical wiring and almost all the major appliances. This is going to be very good, but also very expensive.
I was tempted to install ethernet cable at the same time, but instead have settled on a special cupboard for the wireless router. The ethernet would have been obsolete in five years anyway. Gigabit ethernet is so 2003.
I’d better get going now, I am taking Cushla out for a nice romantic dinner. She’s only just discovered that this is going to occur and is probably wondering why I’m taking her out. The answer is simple: I’d get jealous if someone else took her out.
