Gnome Games update: Aisleriot

Aisleriot has received love from a variety of quarters mostly from Vincent Povirk, Richard Hoelscher and myself. If we are to rule the desktop then we must have the best solitaire ever. The improvements are:

  • Cats walking on the keyboard no longer start a new game. I make no warranties regarding cats dancing on the keyboard.
  • Better estimation of where you meant to drop the cards, as opposed to where you actually did.
  • Valid places you can drop the cards are highlighted when you move over them. Unfortunately the highlight is blue, I have been informed that the alternatives were worse (puke green or invisible red). This only works for the specific games we have altered, so far this includes most of the popular ones and Clock Patience.
  • If the cards runs out of space at the bottom they squash themselves up and spring back when there is room again. That one is thanks to Emmanuel Touzery.
  • The menu bar is now hidden in full-screen mode. Wait! I forgot to mention that we actually have a full-screen mode now.
  • The per-game menus from GNOME 1.x are back, but I already blogged about that.
  • Finally, David Bellot has just announced his latest creation: an new version of his incredibly detailed set of SVG playing cards. Once again revealing our hideous SVG rendering speed problems.
